This is not something I will do ordinarily but under the circumstances I feel compelled to share my weekend with you because in it I met some outstanding people who exhibited some uniqueness. They have chosen to stand out in certain key areas.

On Saturday I was at the SEX 2 SEX conference hosted by Praise Fowowe. It features the likes of Deolu Akinyemi, Tara FelaDurotoye, Prof. Pat Utomi and Toyosi Akerele. These are icons in our society who believe in Nigeria and the power of the Nigerian youth. You see there a lot we can do/achieve if we will make up our minds to hold on to the right value. To tell you the truth, it was an anti-sex before marriage summit but at the end of the day I saw it beyond that. The stage was set, a lot of money was put into this all thanks to the sponsors (New Nigeria Club, LTV etc), the turnout was great, and by my estimate we were over a thousand in attendance and everybody at the end of the day pledging to stay sexually poor until or within marriage.

Praise Fowowe is a special person with a special calling. Addressing the crowd he tried to address several issues. About the use of condoms he says complete abstinence is the message and as such no condoms will ever be distributed free or not. About masturbation, he says it as good as committing the act. Besides you lose 5 times the energy exerted in sex masturbating. But a Why? Men/Guys he say are easily misled by the sight of a woman’s breast. Breaking down the content of the woman’s breast he was able to give the breast a better definition which meant to feed infants. If that be the case and we start to see the breast that way then a lot of things will be done differently. The Chick/Girl /lady is being asked to show her love by sleeping with him. Can he walk the street of Lagos first to show that he loves her?

Adeolu Akinyemi is a multidimensional genius. In his talk he made us understand that adultery is a tool from the devil to destroy a destiny and the spirit behind it does not really attack you until you have been marked, destined for greatness. The greater the attack in form of sex urges the greater you were actually meant to be and as such the more desperate the devil to deal with you before you realize that you have the power and are destined to deal with him. We got to learn from Praise Fowowe that his mum would had pressures to abort him. On his 30th birthday sometimes this year his mum called to say she thanks God she did not. See what the devil had planned knowing what he would likely become. Deolu encouraged that a decision needed be made by all to abstain from sexual immorality. He also encouraged finally that we need not listen to the crowd, that we should instead turn deaf ears using a very interesting story of frogs as an illustration.

Professor Pat Utomi also spoke and in summary he encouraged the audience saying that a decision to abstain goes beyond just the sex issue but it goes to show an individual that has values. The kind of values that we need to move the nation forward.

If you were not there…where were you?

Whether you were there or not, I believe we can all the decide to be sexpurecentrics and just simply STAND OUT…exhibiting uniqueness

somebody with specific skill: a person with great specialized skill e.g. a genius with computers

influence: somebody who or something that exerts a strong influence e.g.· an evil genius

Looking at the definitions critically today I told myself that a genius is simply someone who dared to use his brain and became exceptional at what he did while using that brain.

I took a quick look at some of the people we have called geniuses and most of them especially Thomas Edison seem to agree with me that we can all be called geniuses if and when we started using our brains.

Thomas Edison explained to me that using our brains was key to riches and glory.

He had predicted in his time that 100 year from then which is now people will not be poor anymore and luxuries will be available at very cheap prices.

“There will be no poverty in the world a hundred years from now,” said Edison. “There is no limit to the cheapness with which things can be made. The world will soon be flooded with the cheap products of machinery—not the poor products; the cheap products.”

The world flooded with food, clothing, shelter, and luxuries! No half-starved children, no overworked mothers, no poverty-worried fathers, no disease-breeding, cheerless tenements or houses. The world flooded with food, clothing, shelter, and luxuries!

Impossible? Read on:

“Why should we expect poverty to continue?” asked Edison. “Poverty was for a world that used only its hands. When men used nothing but their hands, poverty was most intense. Now that men have begun to use their brains, poverty is decreasing. Poverty is decreasing though we have been using our brains only a little while. Think how long the world has stood, and then recall that practically everything we know to-day that is worth while we have learned within a hundred years. Look about you and see how many things that were worth while were known a hundred years ago. And we have only just begun to use our brains. What we know is but an atom of what there is to know. But we are learning how to control the forces of nature. As we learn, we shall transform the world. The most wonderful changes are coming—changes about which no one can to-day do more than dream.”

He was right!

He believed that men were poor when they only used their hands. But as soon as mankind starts exploring the possibilities of using the brain, there was no reason for them to be poor.

What really baffle me is to see brilliant people suffer and languish in poverty. Do they not know the story of Jim Carey?

C’mon use that brain! Take a bold step and just do something creative, persistently until the world begins to acknowledge you for it. Then come back and tell me if you purse remained the same size.

Go ahead and exhibit uniqueness.

Network Marketing also known as Multi-level Marketing by my understanding usually is about buying a product, trying it to see if it is good and then referring friends to also try it. We all do it. The difference is that sometimes we get rewarded for it and sometimes we don’t.

The world is gradually coming to realize that the fast way to circulate information is encourage telling a friend. Be it news, a product or a service, encouraging the “tell a friend” syndrome allows word about it to spread like wild fire. What better way to encourage the “tell a friend” syndrome than to attach a reward for telling a friend.

We cannot really blame the industry that chooses to spread the knowledge of its products or services this way since this method is tested a proven to be a lot more effective. Little wonder producers and service providers are moving in that direction now. Neither can we blame the network marketer for choosing to put some effort into it. Deciding to do so has enormous advantages:

You can earn some monetary reward aside your regular job

You can be your own boss at it

All you have to do sometimes is refer

Those you refer will thank you for so in a way you are making money and helping a friend at the same time.

We live in world now where some of people will not refer unless there is reward for referring. Some will only buy a product only if referral bonuses are available. Meanwhile some cannot even stand to hear network marketing: they detest it like a plague. The truth unfortunately is we all make referrals to goods and services that we have tested and found to be good to our friends. So when an opportunity to make money comes from making the referrals why not grab it. We have nothing to lose and a lot to gain for doing so.

I cannot find any reasons why not so I’m asking. If there is anybody there who knows any reasons why we should not grab an opportunity to get paid for making referrals especially where we have been making the referrals for free before…. Pls lets have some reasons hear.

Call me an MLM junkie but as for me Network marketing it is…all the way. I need not tell you that’s how I bought my first car.

Brand Equity is the commercial value of all associations and expectations (positive and negative) that people have of an organization and its products and services due to all experiences of, communications with, and perceptions of the brand over time. This value can be measured in several ways: as the economic value of the brand asset itself, the price premium (to the end consumer or the trade) that the brand commands, the long term consumer loyalty the brand evokes, or the market share gains it results in, among many others. For instance haven stayed this long without a single post on this blog I’m quite sure I will have lost some of my devoted readers.

From an economist’s perspective, brand equity is the power of the brand to shift the consumer demand curve of a product or service to achieve a price premium or a market share gain. I’m talking about a positive shift in demand.

To use a metaphor, brand equity is like a pond. People may not know how long the pond has been around or when it first filled with water, but they know that it supports life, from fish and frogs to ducks and deer. It also may be a source of recreation, irrigation and possibly even human drinking water. Clearly it is a valuable resource. But many people take the pond for granted. It seems as if nothing can diminish its supply of water, but yet we sometimes notice that it rises with the spring rains or lowers after a long draught or excessive overuse for irrigation. Brand equity is a reservoir of goodwill. Brand building activities consistently pursued over time will ensure that the reservoir remains full while neglecting those activities or taking actions that might deplete those reserves will reduce the reservoir, imperceptibly at first, but soon all too noticeably until it is too late and all that is left is mud.

[This article comes as an apology and as bonus to all my readers that may have been disappointed by my silence and may have moved on to other things. I know I have been taking an action whose result means depletion in the reservoir of readers I may have built before now. I’ve been busy with my book(s). Here is a little token as I welcome you back.]

This illustrates one of the most difficult problems in brand management. While brand equity is critically important to a company’s success, because of its reservoir-like nature, it is often taken for granted, overly drawn upon, and not adequately replenished, especially in times of crisis.

First and foremost let me apologize to all for not posting anything here for so long. Did I hear you say it is more than the apologies. Yes, I know. I understand how it feels to come here expecting something and not find anything. It add up to a waste of time and sometimes money. I’ll make this one promise now, I’ll have at least three write-ups here every week (on scouts honour).

Now let’s get down to today. To think that between February 9 and now, this boy has been on the move. Well let me gist you. I took the position of the national youth reorientation coordinator for New Nigeria Club despite the fact that my chairman felt it will be too much for me to handle. It started on the 9th of February now it is going on non-stop.

On the 9th of February, I was in Olabisi Onabanjo University, speaking at a programme organized by NSSIE and partly sponsored by NNC and BusinessDay. I met Charles O’tudor there, he had me speak and boy! he was impressed as he spent some 10 minutes of his own time talking about me. New Nigeria Club was heard for the first time in OOU that day and till date they have not recovered. However everybody there seems to be waiting for the N10,000 feeder. You needed to have seen the reaction on their faces when I mentioned that it cost N30,000 to become a member of this presitigious club.

Then off to Abia state I went. This was an NNC thing in conjunction with FECA. We schedule Abia Sstate University for the 12th and so I took off with a colleague on the 11th of February. It was almost six in the evening and the only flight available to the eastern parts of the country was to PH courtesy Chachangi Airline. We took it and finally arrived in ABSU around 9.30am. We were hosted good and the next day we featured Gbenga Sesan who gave Abia Students serious food for thought. It was a success. It was so successful I nearly landed myself in a trap as there is the girl on my trail ever since. I left the same day otherwise I would have been her valentine cruise. Hmm… that will be a topic for another day.

Let me let you in on the “still to come” on our calender. We will be doing Delta State University and Warri town on the 29th of February and 1st of March respectively. After words we will be doing Babcock on the 14th of March. You can be a part of the move or you can support us with your prayers that the Gospel of a New Nigeria that we preach to youth will not fall on deaf ears. That they will embrace it and live with it. Aluta Continua.

God bless Nigeria
